Why I created Guía Emprendedor
Starting a business in Spain can be exciting—but it can also be surprisingly confusing.
When I began looking for information, I found countless sources, conflicting explanations and legal texts that were difficult to understand. Learning about the different legal structures, and working out which one actually suited my circumstances, was much more complicated than I expected. Much of the useful information is also only available in Spanish, or is not explained clearly enough for someone going through the process in another language.
That is why I created Guía Emprendedor.
I wanted to understand the process, not just get through it
The platform started from a very personal need. I wanted to move forward on my own, learn, understand the logic behind forming a company and preserve my budget for what really matters: building the business itself.
I was not trying to replace a notary, an accountant or professional advice where a particular situation needs it. I wanted to arrive at those conversations better prepared, with my decisions in order, the right questions and less uncertainty.
I was also tired of repeating my company's context in separate conversations with my favourite AI chatbot. Copying and pasting information, explaining my situation again and again, and trying to remember every detail was exhausting. Forgetting one piece of information could mean overlooking an opportunity or an important step.
I needed one place to keep my project, decisions, documents and pending tasks together: a journey that adapts to my situation instead of forcing me through a generic checklist.
What it is already helping me do
Guía Emprendedor has helped me see that, based on my current answers, an SLU is the structure that best fits my project. It also helps me avoid leaving easy-to-postpone matters until the end, such as preparing privacy information and checking the data-protection obligations that may apply, including the GDPR and Spanish law.
Another important lesson has been understanding the difference between a registered office, tax address and place of business. They are not interchangeable labels: Spain's Tax Agency explains that, for an entity, the tax address is connected to where the administrative management and direction of its business are effectively centralised. Understanding that distinction before formalising documents helps me frame my own situation correctly.
Guía Emprendedor's AI works with the context I have added to my project. It can direct me towards official sources and suggest extra steps in my journey when a relevant decision or preparation is missing. That means I can arrive at the notary with a better-organised list and less risk of forgetting something important.
It can also bring together the key information in reports to share with my accountant or gestoría. This helps everyone involved start from the same information and spend their time on the work that genuinely needs professional judgement.
Guía Emprendedor provides organised guidance, not individual legal, tax or professional advice. Confirm the requirements that apply to your circumstances with the relevant authorities and professionals.
The tool I wish I had found earlier
For me, Guía Emprendedor is more than a product. It is the tool I wish I had found at the beginning: a space to learn, retain the context of my business and move forward with greater clarity.
I am using it to build my own company, and it is helping me enormously.
